Twinlab’s Mega Primrose Oil - Product Review
|
DescriptionTwinlab’s Mega Primrose Oil features the beneficial omega 6 essential fatty acid known as GLA (gamma linolenic acid) derived from evening primrose oil. Evening primrose oil is extracted from the seeds of the evening primrose plant (Oenothera biennis). Used for centuries as a medicinal plant, evening primrose oil helps promote hormonal balance, skin health and wellness. Many people are deficient in essential fatty acids because the body can’t make them from other substances and they must be supplied by the diet. The modern diet, consisting of processed foods and saturated (bad) fats, is often deficient in essential fatty acids such as GLA. Therefore, supplementation with evening primrose oil can help improve wellness and benefit people with nutritional deficiency. GLA is converted into the beneficial prostaglandin PGE1 that acts as a hormone-like regulatory substance. PGE1 has anti-inflammatory, blood-thinning, and blood vessel-dilating properties in the body. Research suggests that people with hormonal imbalances and skin conditions may have a metabolic block that prevents the body from making GLA. Studies have shown that individuals with PMS (premenstrual syndrome), eczema, scleroderma and other chronic conditions can benefit from evening primrose oil supplementation. ProsOne Mega Primrose Oil capsule contains more than twice the GLA of standard 500 mg Evening Primrose Oil capsules, making them more convenient and economical. The oil is extracted from the highest quality evening primrose seeds using the cold-process, expeller-press method, without hexane or other chemical solvents. Mega Primrose Oil is packaged in a glass bottle for maximum quality and freshness. The nutrients in Mega Primrose Oil have the following benefits:

Apart from the relief during the menstrual cycle, I also love the suprisingly SMOOTH affect it has on my skin and hair. If you are trying to get pregnant, discontinue the Evening Primrose Oil after ovulation.
