Nupercainal is an OTC (over the counter) ointment offering prompt, temporary relief of pain, itching and burning due to hemorrhoids and other anorectal problems. It contains dibucaine 1%, lanolin, light mineral oil and white petrolatum. Nupercainal may be applied to external hemorrhoids to temporarily relieve the pain, itching and burning of hemorrhoids. However, it does not treat internal hemorrhoids or stop hemorrhoids from returning.

Dibucaine 1% is a topical analgesic that interferes with pain signals sent from the nerves to the brain. This effect numbs the area so you no longer feel pain. Lanolin, light mineral oil and white petrolatum are skin protectants that form a protective barrier over skin while healing. This prevents drying of tissues and relieves anorectal discomforts.

Nupercainal can also be used for the temporary relief of pain and itching due to sunburn, minor burns, cuts, insect bites or minor skin irritation.

Dosage And Directions
