ISS' ZMA - Product Review
|
DescriptionISS' ZMA features an all-natural, non-steroidal mineral formula scientifically shown to boost testosterone and muscle strength. This anabolic (muscle building) formulation contains highly bioavailable forms of the minerals zinc monomethionine aspartate and covalently-bound zinc/magnesium aspartate, as well as vitamin B-6. Studies suggest that ZMA can increase free testosterone levels, IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factor) and muscle strength in athletes. Magnesium and zinc are minerals used to support testosterone production and promote sleep. This combination of minerals promotes deep sleep, when the body's hormonal production is maximized. The addition of vitamin B6 further enhances zinc and magnesium absorption and utilization. ZMA helps increase IGF-1 levels, which promotes muscle strength during workouts. Studies suggest that athletes' zinc and magnesium levels can significantly decrease after participating in regular intense workouts and performance. This mineral depletion is associated with a decline in muscle endurance or total work capacity. In one study, published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise, researchers administered either ZMA or a placebo (fake supplement) to NCAA football players daily during an eight-week spring training program. Pre and post leg strength measurements were made using a Biodex isokinetic dynamometer. Researchers found that the ZMA group had an 11.6% strength increase, compared to a 4.6% increase in the placebo group. The ZMA group also had a 30% increase in free and total testosterone levels compared to a 10% decrease in the placebo group. Furthermore, the ZMA group had a small increase in IGF-1 levels compared to a 20 percent decrease in the placebo group. ProsZMA is scientifically shown to increase testosterone levels, muscle strength and IGF-1. ZMA has the following benefits:
