Hemor-Rite Cryotherapy is an anatomically designed device for applying cold therapy (Cryotherapy) to hemorrhoids. It can treat external and internal hemorrhoids (inflamed anal veins) within the rectal cavity as well as anal fissures (a tear in the anus skin).  Hemor-Rite Cryotherapy is approved by the FDA to be used for a period of six months. 

Cryotherapy is used as an alternative treatment to surgery of hemorrhoids. This procedure can be recommended for first and second stage hemorrhoids. For more severe third and fourth stages hemorrhoids, surgical treatment is usually recommended. The Hemor-Rite Cryotherapy device contains a gel which can be frozen in the freezer. It is placed in the freezer for a minimum of two hours. Direct application of the cold device externally or internally in the rectum can relieve hemorrhoidal itching, pain and swelling.

A study, “In defense of cryotherapy for hemorrhoids. A modified method.” published in Diseases of the Colon and Rectum, describes cryotherapy as a non operative hemorrhoid treatment. “Cryotherapy of hemorrhoids is most effective and has the least side effects when directed at the internal hemorrhoids only, at a high level, and in stages, each application being for a period of one minute only,” the author writes.

Dosage And Directions

Use the Hemor-Rite Cryotherapy device for a minimum of four times daily for the first week of treatment. Allow a minimum of two hours between each treatment. After the first week, use at least twice a day until the symptoms disappear. The device is reusable for a maximum of six months.

Insert the Hemor-Rite Cryotherapy device in its case and place in the freezer for a minimum of two hours.  After the maximum time has elapsed, remove the device from the freezer and the case.

To treat external hemorrhoids:
Lie on one side with one leg extended and the other leg bent towards the abdomen. Take the device by the neck or base holding it with the wider end pointing towards the front. Place and hold the device in the position over the anus. Use for 6 to 8 minutes or until it reaches body temperature, for a maximum of 10 minutes. Remove the device slowly and smoothely. Wash it with soap and warm water. Remove excess moisture with a papter towel and place the dry device in its case.

To treat internal hemorrhoids:
Holding the device by the base, apply several drops of lubricant to the tip and allow the drops to drip down the neck of the device. Lie on one side with one leg extended and the other leg bent towards the abdomen. Take the device by the neck or base holding it with the wider end pointing towards the front. Insert the lubricated device slowly and smoothly into the anal canal until completely inserted. Use for 6 to 8 minutes or until it reaches body temperature, for a maximum of 10 minutes. Remove the device slowly and smoothely. Wash it with soap and warm water. Remove excess moisture with a papter towel and place the dry device in its case.

As a form of hemorrhoid prevention, continue using the device approximately every two days. To assist in hemorrhoid prevention eat fiber, drink 8 to 10 glasses of water daily, exercise, and take a stool softener.
