Alacer's Emergen-C - Product Review  Hot

 Alacer Emergen-C

Description

Alacer's Emergen-C is America's favorite vitamin C fizzing drink. The scientifically balanced packets contain 1000 mg of vitamin C as 7 mineral ascorbates (ascorbic acid salts), B vitamins and 32 active mineral complexes. Emergenc-C features a non-acidic, stomach-friendly formula to boost energy, support healthy metabolic function and promote immunity

Vitamin C (or ascorbic acid) is a water-soluble vitamin that supports the immune system and helps protect cells from free radical damage. The human body does not produce vitamin C on its own, nor does it store it. Free radicals are toxic byproducts of metabolic functions or are introduced from the environment (such as pollution and chemicals). Free radicals cause damage to cells and tissues, which is associated with cancer, heart disease, and age-related diseases. Vitamin C neutralizes harmful free radicals and helps protect the body from premature aging, infections and disease.

Emergen-C delivers a natural energy boost with vitamins B1, B2, B3, B6 and B12. It also provides mineral salts known as electrolytes. Electrolytes such as sodium, chloride and magnesium help to control fluid levels in the body, maintain normal pH levels, and conduct transmission of nerve signals. Electrolytes stores can be depleted during hot weather or after intense workouts. Emergen-C can replenish lost electrolytes after prolonged physical activity and heat exposure.

Pros

Emergen-C is non-acidic and easy on the stomach. Emergen-C makes it easy for you to benefit from an optimum daily dose of vitamin C. Just add water to a convenient Emergen-C packet and drink.

  • 1000 mg of vitamin C as 7 mineral ascorbates

I was first introduced to Emergen-C back in 2006 while working at a retirment community, I was coming down with a cold and one of our residents gave me a half box and told me to take one package twice a day atleast. I did so, enjoying the taste immediately and within a couple of days felt much better. Now, 2011, I have continued taking it when I feel like I might be coming down with something. But through the summer I used it to boast up my energy levels during stressful situation (physiclly and mentally) Lately I have been struggling with insomnia, this was going on for over a week, Emergen-C has helped me with energy and B vitamins to deal with it. I even use during my 3 mile hike to my favorite fishing hole on cold days.

I hadn't heard about this product until college, but definitely glad I did. It is an amazing immune booster, I will take it anytime I feel a cold or worse, the flu, coming on and it usually knocks it down cold. I have been taking it at night and had wondered why it was harder for me to fall asleep, I failed to realize it was also supposed to be an energy booster too. It was definitely a little harder to fall asleep, but I don't think it would of done much energy boosting if I took it in the morning. All in all I think it is great to keep around in the cold/flu season!

I had first tried this product when I had a rather persistant cold, thinking "Couldn't hurt, might help" and was surprised by how tasty it was. The cold did go away a couple of days later, and I had 1-2 pouches a day. I wrote it off as a coincidence, but kept having 1 a day just because I really wasn't a fan of vitamin c tablets.
I haven't gotten sick once since then (mid-November, and I usually get a cold at least once a month) and I really think it helped. Doesn't hurt that it is fizzy and delicious.

Emergen-C is an awesome product. I started drinking this about a month ago and I have noticed the difference in my energy level. It's almost doubled of what it use to be.
